Team Classification

Hello sports fans!!!!!!

As most of you are aware, Georgia ISA is continuously trying to find a better and more equitable way to classify teams, make rule changes, classify player, or consider any other ideas that will make ISA a leading organization in Georgia Softball.

Due to homerun rule changes and ending inning outs we are going to review the team lists. GA ISA will review and consider changes in team movements for the 2010 season.  The new format will reflect players who we feel are in the wrong classifications.

We are requesting each coach to submit his roster to Georgia ISA with the following information.  Although this will not be a perfect fix, our association feels that Georgia ISA needs to do what’s best for the players and teams.

•        Players names and where they played for the last two years.  
•        Email the roster to the following address: kmcdaniel@ipcinc.com or kennymc7@aol.com, or hheffner@gainesville.gov.
•        We need this information in our hands no later than December 15, 2009.  This will allow us time to review the rosters and post the new classification list by January 15, 2010. We realize that sometimes teams are not able to do this that early.  So any team not able to finalize their roster before December 15, 2009 will be reviewed on a team by team basis by email only.  These rosters will be reviewed and added to the updated the classification listing once the review has been completed.

After many discussions and research the ISA Board came up with the following classifications of teams.
As always you can play up without permission of ISA Board but must appeal to board before you would be allowed to drop

We looked at the overall strength of the team with the people listed and classified accordingly.

The first list is teams and the class they will be allowed to start out in ISA for 2010.
These teams must use the rosters that were sent in. Any additions to roster on file must be approved by board

Any team that did not send a roster in for review will have to play in the class provided in the second listing of teams but can have 1 player from the next higher class, however once you have that higher class player that is the only one that you will be allowed for 2010. If he leaves the team or you release him you do not get another higher class player for the remainder of the year. Also that player must return to the higher class also.
