Hero For A Day Charity Softball Tournament
UGA HEROs is a nonprofit, student-run organization dedicated to raising funds for H.E.R.O. for Children Inc. H.E.R.O. for Children Inc. is dedicated to improving the quality of life of children in Georgia affected by HIV/AIDS by means beyond their control.

H.E.R.O. for Children is the
only organization providing quality of life care to these children in the state
With the help of the Center for Disease Control and Emory University, H.E.R.O. established the “Rising HEROes Program,” which is the
world’s first curriculum focused on improving the emotional health and social development of these children. Other services provided by H.E.R.O. include the “SuperHEROs Mentor Program” and the “HERO Olympics.” Head football
Coach Mark Richt and legendary
Coach Vince Dooley both loyally support H.E.R.O. and sit on the Board of Directors.
UGA Heros will be hosting a
Men’s softball tournament on October 16th. Please join us in this worthy cause!
* Where: Lamar Murphy Park in Jackson County
* When: October 16th
* Price: $175
* Format: Double Elimination. Start with 1&1 pitch count.
* Time limit: 7 innings or Run Rule (20 after 4 innings, 15 after 5 innings).
* Bats: Any USSSA, ISA, or ASA legal bats. No titanium, Ultras, or senior bats allowed.
* Balls. Any .44 core ball.
* Homeruns: Can hit up to 10 homeruns $1 per homerun. After 10, homeruns will count as a single.
* 1st place: Gets shirts and a plaque
* Since this tournament is a charity tournament, umpires will be volunteers.
* Homerun Derby ($5 per entry) with a plaque to homerun champion.
